New Project Helps States Improve Outcomes For Juvenile Offenders

Georgetown University’s Center for Juvenile Justice Reform has launched the Juvenile Justice System Improvement Project, which works to help states improve outcomes for juvenile offenders by translating the latest research into practice and policy. Funded in part by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the project uses information from a meta-analysis of effective juvenile justice programs and from OJJDP’s Comprehensive Strategy for Serious, Violent, and Chronic Juvenile Offenders to provide suggestions for improving juvenile justice practice.

States can apply to receive training and technical assistance to implement this approach. Applicationsmust be submitted to Georgetown University by April 14, 2011.
